Risen Energy Launches Interpretation Videos for IEC PV Module Performance Testing Standard

Company News
2024-03-04

Founded in 1906, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is the world’s earliest international standardization organization standardization responsible for international standardization work in the fields of electrical and electronic engineering. The IEC 61215 standard, officially titled “Terrestrial Photovoltaic (PV) Modules - Design Qualification and Type Approval”, has been the fundamental standard for PV module design and the authoritative basis for performance verification since its first release in 1993. With continuous development of PV technology and the upgrading of PV products, the market has raised higher requirements for testing new high-efficiency modules. On February 23, 2021, the 2021 edition of the IEC 61215 standard was officially released, which is the second edition following the 2016 edition and the fourth major version iteration in the development evolution of IEC 61215 standard.

As a leading enterprise in the global PV industry, Risen Energy established an independent national PV laboratory as early as 2012 and obtained ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. It has the technical capabilities to conduct testing and calibration services under international recognized criteria such as IEC 61215, IEC 61730-2, and UL 1703, making Risen Energy one of the few companies in the early domestic PV industry to be granted this accreditation. Over the years, it has closely followed the development trends of various new materials and products in the industry, and continuously expanded and improved its testing capabilities. In September 2022, it successfully applied for CNAS supervision review and new standard expansion items, passing the re-review and expansion audit of the new IEC 61215-2:2021 standard. This not only marks a new height for the testing and calibration capabilities of Risen Energy’s CNAS laboratory, but provides stronger and better testing support for its product development, quality control, certification witness test, and other projects.

“To truly understand something, one must put it into practice.” To help the industry better understand the IEC 61215 standard and product performance, Risen Energy, with the support of the CNAS national PV laboratory, is proud to announce the launch of video series of “IEC PV Module Performance Testing Standard Interpretation”. This video series provide an in-depth and intuitive introduction to the requirements of the IEC standard for PV module performance testing and demonstrate specific testing methods in conjunction with Risen Energy’s PERC and HJT products.

Starting from March, 2024, the second working day ofeach month, Risen Energy’s video series on IEC standard interpretation will bereleased. Stay tuned.
